The challenge

Provide product prototyping and design for a MedTech start-up focused on creating a better patient and provider rounds experience.

The Q-rounds founding team envisioned improving the rounds experience for patients, families, and healthcare teams. The solution? A digital product that enhanced healthcare efficiency by building and managing a virtual rounding queue.

  • Guided the strategy and development of a digital product designed to improve the patient experience, specifically by connecting the dots between a rounding provider and the care team supporting a patient.
  • Created a high-fidelity clickable prototype to test the personalized experience concepts, efficiency, and usability of the product.
  • Led user testing with key audiences including physicians, nurses, patients, support teams (e.g. translators, social workers), and families.
  • Collaborated with the in-house development team on technology infrastructure, EHR/EMR integration, security, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Identified additional user personals that needed to be considered for the experience.
  • Created a product roadmap, including MVP feature sets based on audience priorities.
  • Provided initial development budgets and guidance for future funding activities.
