The challenge
Design, brand, and build a digital experience to house resources for leaders in child welfare
Alia came to us with a grant and an ambitious goal: Disrupt the historically slow-moving United States child welfare system. Together, we created a dynamic library of parent-approved resources and practices to help child welfare leaders and workers keep more families safely together. We guided the Alia team through project definition and strategy exercises followed by a customized Design Sprint to create the brand identity and site design. Finally, we led the development, testing, and launch of the Bright Spots site.
What we did
- Led strategy sessions to determine how to maximize Alia’s budget and make the best use of their grant
- Customized the Design Sprint method to drive rapid progress and create efficiencies within a condensed timeline
- Aligned stakeholders on problem statements, audience personas, user tasks, and testing objectives
- Created an MVP (minimum viable product) prototype, including information architecture and taxonomy
- Generated a research plan and conducted testing with potential users to confirm information architecture and validate taxonomy
- Provided a hosting and content management system (CMS) platform recommendation to meet the potential scaling needs of the product
- Led exercises to develop and choose a product name and brand identity
- Completed an efficient development of a brand-new, responsive website
- Provided CMS training to enable the Alia team to enter and manage content on the site
- Performed quality assurance and acceptance testing and remediation
